The Good

Charming and fun, a celebration of color and kindness.

The Bad

The plot is convoluted and dumb, but it hardly matters.

Bottom Line

It seems unlikely considering source material, but Paddington 2 is more genuinely inspiring than 15:17 To Paris.

I would dare say that I enjoyed Paddington 2 more than I enjoyed The Last Jedi. I story so ridiculous was never so entertaining and it was visually effects heavy without you even realizing it.

I did not expect to enjoy the first Paddington movie, as I don’t find slick, modern CG versions of classic properties to be of interest. But both movies won me over. I think it’s the color and humor (and the great British cast) on the one hand, and the message of kindness on the other hand. Paddington 2 literally has a song called “Love Your Neighbor.”
